I was standing nose to nose with a drill sergeant, when he barked at me, “Why did you join the Army, Soldier?” My mind flooded with a myriad of answers.  Leadership opportunities… Travel and see the world... The Army College Fund…  So, what did I say?   “It seemed like the thing to do, Sergeant!” How could I explain that I was hooked by the promise to “Be All You Can Be”? Although I was trained as a cardiac technician in the Army, I found myself drawn to the business of running a clinic.  Establishing policies, implementing procedures and creating training programs, I was energized by increased productivity, enhanced employee engagement and improved customer satisfaction.  This was the foundation of a life-long passion. Excellence, rather than average, is my measure.  Business excellence is not just a career.  For me, it’s a calling. You see, I'm still working toward that vision of many years ago to “Be All You Can Be.”
